In mid January this year, COSDEP embarked on a 3days training for each of the newly recruited farmers groups called Kiangima, Gichumi, Mukuyu Kienyenji and Kamwitu all based in Githunguri subcounty Kiambu with a total of 102 farmers. We had a one day theoretical training for each of the groups which was aimed at introducing the project’s topics in details before starting on the practical sessions for two days for each of the group. The practical sessions included;

1. Making of Bokashi – This is an organic bio fertilizer used for soil amendment
2. Supermagro – This is an organic foliar fertilizer that boosts vegetative growth
3. Mounting of vertical gardens in the groups demo farms
4. Making of Ash brew which is a natural biopesticide for use against pesticides
5. Preparing raised seed beds in preparation for planting
