Various farmer groups under the the innovative women farmers project are undergoing training in various practices to increase their production, income and ensure food security.
They are being taught how to make nursery beds for vegetables, varieties of vegetable seeds, mixed-cropping, weed control measures among others. They are extremely happy!
“We have been working as farmers for several years and only cultivate cassava and maize whiles we struggle to buy vegetables in the market. These vegetables are what we use on daily basis for preparing meals for our family and a lot of money goes into that. Now, we have acquired the knowledge and skills to cultivate our own vegetables which to us, is the most important thing to improve our livelihood. Thank you and your partners for showing us the way!” Abu Zalietu, (group leader)
