“To give an example, meet Bennah, aged 24 years.

With the grocery profit, she opened the hotel behind us. She earns about ksh 2400 (or €16) minimum from both ventures. This is good pay in the village and she began to save her profits in the bank,” says our colleague Martha Mwangi, visiting OLCAP during our annual visits to our partners. “Moreover, she has 1 full-time employee. She is an employer in such a short period. I was so genuinely happy for her.”

Another story of one of the project participants from OLCAP:

“This lady, Praxides, was at the edge and was seeking housework job. This would have forced her to leave her kids with the aging mum. Gladly, the project has helped her a great deal. She can see her children grow and feed them amongst fulfilling other needs she now affords.”
