Volunteer positions
1. Board Member based in West Africa
We are looking for a Board Member representing West Africa, preferably based in Ghana or Ivory Coast. Together with the chair, secretary, treasurer and Board Member representing East Africa our board will be complete!
Tasks Board Member
- Participate and vote in 6 online annual board meetings.
- Brings in additional expertise that adds-on in the board and in a dedicated committee on finance, fundraising, governance or marketing.
Board roles:
- Monitors the performance of the organisation upon vision, purpose, and strategy.
- Guides and supervise/evaluate the performance and compensation of the management.
- Review and approve overall strategy and policies, such as annual budgets.

2. Expert(s) for Financial Committee
We are looking for an expert with experience in developing a Social Business and/or a Financial Expert.
Tasks:
- To co-develop and/or advises on financial planning / forecasts and financial risks, twice a year.
- And advise on small financial requests during the year, upon needs when it comes to financial administration, budgets or social business plans.
The work for the financial committee, could coincide with the role of Chair of the Board or Advisory Board Member.

1. Consultant Text Editor (French and English)
We are looking for a text editor for:
- Translating English texts into French (website texts and training tools); and
- Editing French texts (project texts and reports); and
- Translating French texts into English.
We offer:
- Consultancy fee per final page.
- Your work contributes to social impact.
- Working in an international and passionate team.
We request:
- A professional text editor who can show past results.
- Fluency in both English and French writing.
- Based in Africa (preferably West Africa).
If the collaboration is satisfying for both parties, the assignment could also add English text editing.
2. NGO-Relations Manager Ivory Coast
We are looking for a consultant NGO-relations in Ivory Coast for:
- Selecting, visiting and building trust-based partnerships with >3 Ivorian NGOs from end 2023.

We request:
- Has experience in working for civil society organisations in Côte d’Ivoire.
- Fluency in both English and French. French for in-country communications, and English for teamwork within iMPACT direct.
- Based in Côte d’Ivoire.
Interns/ Research Questions
We’re also looking for student- or volunteer researchers who like to go in-depth on the following:
1. Mapping open training sources for NGOs
Underfunded locally-led NGOs face multiple obstacles to grow their organisation professionally. iMPACT direct aims to support locally-led NGOs in that with visibility, access to grants and capacity strengthening. A more thorough mapping of all open (online) training resources for civil society organisation is needed to be able to build on what is already there.

2. Mapping best practices from partner-NGOs
Looking at the projects already funded through iMPACT direct and their results, what can we and our partner NGOs learn from it to improve future approaches.
Is it better to train a large group of people, or support a small group to an actual job or business? What are best practices of approaches that many of our NGOs take in vocational training, teaching eco-farming or VSLA (saving) schemes? And what are best approaches from the partnering NGOs when it comes to engaging project participants in designing and budgeting for the upcoming project?

3. (further) Exploring Giving Circles
If you have an interest in fundraising: Explore what is known about Middle Donors or Giving Circles. And plan and test how we can improve.
