Pinasol Foundation Hosts Stakeholder Engagement for Solar Mechanized Borehole Water System in Akwamu, Ghana

The Pinasol Foundation, in partnership with iMPACT Direct Foundation and Wilde Ganzen, is excited to announce the upcoming construction of a solar mechanized borehole water system for the residents of Akwamu. This initiative aims to resolve the acute water scarcity faced by the community.

A stakeholder engagement meeting has been held to discuss the project’s implementation. As part of this process, we established a five-member Water and Sanitation Management Committee tasked with overseeing the effective implementation and ongoing management of the water system.

During the meeting, Nana Aduse Poku, Chairman of the Pinasol Foundation Board, commended the people of Akwamu for their enthusiastic support of the water project. He emphasized the importance of adhering to a sustainability plan to ensure the water system remains functional and beneficial for the community over time. He also highlighted how vital community engagement is in attracting future projects to enhance local resources.

The event saw participation from Pinasol Foundation staff, community members, the District Engineer from the Sekyere East District Assembly, the Coordinating Director, the District Planning Officer, and representatives from the Ghana Health Service.

Stay tuned for more updates as we progress with this crucial project!
