Our Comprehensive Strategy to Keep Girls in School with Innovative Undergarments and Pads

Marketing Perspectives:
To successfully promote our project and its outcomes, OLCAP has created a marketing strategy with the following key elements:

    1.Target Audience and Key Messages
Our main audience consists of local families, schools, and community organizations. We want to convey that our products—affordable undergarments and sanitary pads—are essential for the health and education of girls, helping them stay in school during their menstrual periods.

    2. Collaborations
We will partner with local leaders, schools, and community organizations to reach more people. Collaborating with schools allows us to connect directly with girls and families. Working with groups like religious organizations and women’s associations will help promote and distribute our products.

    3. Distribution Channels
Our products will be available through various outlets, including schools, clinics, and community centres. We will also participate in local markets to showcase our products and directly engage with the community.

      4. Awareness Campaigns
To raise awareness, we will use social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to share our mission and product benefits. We will also host workshops in schools and community centres to educate families on the importance of proper menstrual hygiene.

      5. Feedback Collection
We will gather feedback through surveys and community meetings. This input will help us adapt our products and marketing strategies to better meet the needs of our audience.

        6. Monitoring Success
We will track our success by analyzing sales data, monitoring school attendance, and assessing the economic benefits for the women involved in the project. This will help us measure our impact and improve the project over time.

By following this marketing strategy, OLCAP aims to effectively promote our products while providing sustainable income opportunities for women and supporting the education of girls in Ikolomani.

        Maintenance and Financing Plans:
To ensure the ongoing maintenance and longevity of the project, we have the following provisions in place:

        1. Initial Budget for Repairs and Maintenance and Ongoing Funding
We have set aside Ksh 90,000 for repairs and maintenance during the first 6 months.

After the initial 6 months, 15% of the project’s revenue will be allocated for repairs and maintenance. This will help cover costs as they arise and keep equipment in good working condition.

        1. Use of Local Repair Services

We will utilize local repair services to ensure quick and cost-effective maintenance of our equipment.

        1. Regular Monitoring:

We will regularly monitor our finances to adjust the maintenance budget as necessary, ensuring funds are available for repairs when needed.

By implementing these plans, we aim to maintain the project’s sustainability and effectiveness in the long run.

        Organizational Structure Post-Startup:

The organizational structure post-startup includes the outlined personnel as well as additional mechanisms designed to ensure the project’s success and sustainability.

        1. Project Management Team
          Project Manager
Responsible for overall project execution and daily operations.
Manages budget, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Promotes products and engages with the community for feedback and support.

        Technician
Manages the production process, focusing on quality and safety.

        2. Governance Framework
There will be a steering committee made up of key stakeholders, including: Organization representatives, Project participants, Community members and External advisors. In addition, provides strategic oversight to ensure the project meets community needs.

        3. Regular Review Meetings

There will be monthly meetings held to check project progress and address any challenges so as to adjust strategies as needed.

The Project Manager will report to the Steering Committee with updates on milestones, finances, and any issues.

        4. Feedback Mechanisms
Surveys and focus groups will be used to gather community feedback and ensure continuous improvement.

        5. Sustainability Plan

        • Includes strategies for scaling operations and training participants to mentor others.
        • Establishes partnerships with local businesses for market access.
        • Encourages participants to save and reinvest in their ventures.

This structure will ensure effective management and long-term success of the project.
