Restorative Seed Society

Restorative Seed Society (RSS) is a local organisation based in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Established in 2007, RSS is committed to helping people and groups realise their full potential through the provision of a supportive environment that ensures the achievement of personal goals and collective goals. The literacy school project is one such initiative that is helping non-literate women and girls learn to read and write for an improved life.

Team

The team is well versed in pedagogical learning having already run the Bolgatanga Literacy School for the past 5 years. Hillary Adongo is in charge of day-to-day management of the organisation. Rev. Charles Kusi Oduro manages all the school activities.

We have expertise in a wide range of academic and professional areas such as Community Development, Communication and Leadership Skills, Adult Education and Small Business Management. Moreover, the team has a wealth of experience working with government and private stakeholders in the non-formal education sector.

Past results

In 2015, Restorative Seed Society started the Bolgatanga Literacy School which is a success. This project has helped 1750 women and girls and 300 men expand their businesses, improve their finances and quality of their social life.

The costs of the Nabdam Literacy School are around €4 per student.

Businesswomen fight Poverty

Supporting 200 businesswomen to improve their quality, profits and access to credit in the Kassena Nankana West and Bongo Districts.  Ultimately, the raise of income results in savings that will allow their children to attend secondary and tertiary education, fighting generational poverty.
