Interim Report: Innovative Women Farmers (VAO)

The first phase of the project, farm adventure, has come to an end.

With the donations through iMPACT direct (€3,121), 120 women successfully participated in Farm Adventure, the first phase of the project. The number exceeded the target 100 because all women from the target communities were interested in participating. The women trained in crop production, storage, fertilizer measures, pesticide labels, and marketing skills. They also learnt bookkeeping, planning, teamwork, responsibility, communication, money management and polyculture.

The trainees also received simple farm tools such as cutlases and hoes. Some extremely poor and weak women received GHS 300.00 (or €25) each to support them with land preparation. The participants received vegetable seeds and they can comfortably prepare nurseries and engage in nutritious, in-demand vegetable production. We consider this a sustainability module since they do not require our help anymore.
