Interim Report: Eco-farming for Employment

With donations of (€6.240) made through iMPACT direct, 105 vulnerable women have been successfully trained in organic vegetable farming. 200 women applied to participate in the training and we agreed to increase the planned 100 to 105 being keen on the impact per person. The theoretical training comprised of functional literacy skills, technical agricultural and business skills such as crop production, storage, organic fertilizer measures, pesticide labels, rainwater harvesting and marketing.

Currently, the participants are undergoing the practical training that involves cultivation of organic vegetables like pepper, okra, tomatoes and garden eggs which are based on the market demands. By the end of the project, all participants will produce quality organic vegetables based on the market demands. This will sustainably increase their income and their quality of life in Tain rural communities, in Ghana.
