We’re thrilled to share some exciting progress from our ongoing initiative, Pads that Empower Women and Girls, in Atwima Nwabiagya, Ghana, made possible through the generous funding of €3,263 by Stichting Overal!
As of the first week of November, we’ve successfully recruited and trained three incredible single mothers from the Nerebehi Community. These dedicated women are now employed in the production of high-quality, eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads. Within just one month, they have generated an income of 900 GHS (approximately €58)! This opportunity is not only providing financial independence for these mothers but also ensuring that they can support their families better.
Supporting School Girls:
Our program is making remarkable strides in addressing menstrual health management. We’ve conducted educational sessions for schoolgirls and teachers, enhancing their understanding of menstrual health and hygiene. So far, we have distributed EcoPeriod kits to 110 schoolgirls at Nerebehi RC Junior High School. Each kit, which will last them for at least a year, comes equipped with everything they need to continue their education with confidence.
